Institution Development Plan

Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU), is a prominent State Technical University located at Daruhi, a distance of 5 Km away from Hamirpur Distt. Headquarter. The University strives to be a leading institution in technical education, research, and innovation. Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) envisions itself as an autonomous, dynamic, and flexible institution that promotes learner-centric, research-led, and interdisciplinary technical education. The University aims to generate significant value in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer, thereby contributing to integrated national development and global understanding. The Govt of Himachal Pradesh allotted 1.97 hectare land in village Daruhi for development of HPTU and accordingly HPTU constructed  i) Administrative block ii) Academic block iii) Open Air Theatre (OAT)  iv)  Shopping complex cum Canteen block on this land. 

Further, transfer of forest land i.e. 7.1002 hectare and 11.8147 hectare in Village Daruhi & Vikasnagar respectively is under process. Subsequent to the respectively transfer of forest land to HPTU following structures are proposed for HPTU :

Milestones & Phase-wise Development Framework

HPTU’s official “Milestones” page outlines a structured two-phased development strategy, which effectively serves as its Institutional Development Plan : 

Phase-1 focuses on institutional activation across the state:
  • Affiliating and inspecting technical colleges
  • Designing and revising curricula
  • Conducting examinations and managing admissions
Phase-2 shifts focus towards strengthening on-campus academics by setting up the University Institute of Studies (UIS). These include faculties such as:
  • Engineering & Technological Studies
  • Petroleum Technologies
  • Business & Management Studies
  • Pharmacy & Ayurveda
